I don't think it's a bad ship at all. But I do think that getting that Imperial rank high enough, flying one that's all A-rated, and being able to afford to lose it, is nature's way of telling you that you've won Elite Dangerous and there isn't much else in the way of challenge left. Much like getting to the Panther Clipper in Elite Frontier.
Lucky the developers keep adding new stuff to keep content there. Engineers, Thargoids, Guardian weapons and modules, new ships...
