Nice post !

But don't forget one think, the Python is designed as a Multipurpose ship whereas the FDL is purely a fighter. Strenghts and Weaknesses of both are part of their 'job'. As a multipurpose ship, the Python is far more versatile but might need to spend far more money to make it great in all roles. The FDL lacks jump range and cargo rack, but, who cares for a fighter? Sure, it can have a better range, but... meh.

I prefer (own taste) the FDL for combat. I tried for hours both ships, and i don't think the python is ideal for war/bounty hunting, 'cause its size make it a good target, whereas the FDL, smaller, is a little more protected against AI (and bears more shield.). I love python, but i would recommend it for bounty hunting/trading/exploration, not for conflicts zones. Own taste also. If you are a combat bond player, prefer the FDL.

I do not agree with the fact that Python have better hardpoint layout, for i prefer the use of 2 Burst Turrets (Large), 2 gimballed medium burst lasers and a Cannon/Plasma Accelarator on it. Turrets do well their job and python is agile enough to deal great damages with the other weapons, but the FDL uses 4 Medium Hardpoint which can help destroying very fast small vessels, and using then the Huge Weapon for destroying larger. For fire power, both are equal for me.
