As long as you don't intend to fly into a black hole, the insurance shouldn't be an issue. I haven't used the asp myself and generally don't explore much, but the conda is definitely great for long trips. You get insane jumprange with a lot of fuel capacity and a class 7 fuel scoop. It's worth it in my opinion.
With the best FSD (16 mil) and a 7B fuel scoop (22 mil) you can expect to pay roughly 180 mil. (7A fuel scoop costs 91 mil) unless you find a station that gives you a discount.
