View source for Elite Dangerous Wiki:Requests for permissions

Use this page's discussion page to ask for reviewer or template editor permission. Explain what permission you are requesting and provide relevant editing experience. An administrator should consider the editor's understanding of policy, record the reason for a decision, and grant only the permissions needed. Reviewer rights are for trusted editors who can identify clear policy violations and review the entire outstanding change. Template editor rights are for trusted editors with sufficient experience editing and testing high-risk templates and modules.

Administrators may remove a permission when it is misused or no longer needed and should explain the decision. An editor may ask for an uninvolved administrator to review a decision. Permission grants and removals are recorded in Special:Log/rights.

Administrator and bureaucrat requests
For an administrator appointment or election, use Project:Administrator elections. For a bureaucrat appointment or election, use Project:Bureaucrat elections. Explain the role requested, relevant experience and reasons the request would help the community. The community discussion does not itself grant technical rights. Before representing any role or permission as active, check Special:ListGroupRights and the rights log. An account can change permissions only when the configured system allows it.

Decisions and review
A decision should be explained and recorded. Consider the reasons and evidence rather than treating a count of comments as automatic approval. Where a decision is disputed, ask an uninvolved administrator to review it when available. This page sets no numerical threshold, fixed term, or eligibility rule.
