You will want to go into advanced maintenance at the next station you visit that has repair. Ships have an overall ship intgrity value that drops over time in super cruise. When tha value drops so does the overall strength of your hull. While the hull can be full, lowered integrity means your full hull is lower overall. Woth 0% integrity weakening your hull's overall strength by 30%.
