The Diamondback Explorer '''is not''' "an excellent explorer," because it's fuel scoop potential is too small, making it less efficient at exploration than many other ships in the game, even a Vulture, which is a highly combat focused ship.

The Diamondback Explorer is decent at reach hard to reach places with its capable jump range, but that does very little for actually ranking up in exploration.
