The Dolphin is the latest addition to Saud Kruger's line of luxury passenger ships. It is a small vessel with a very low starter price aimed at commanders wishing to embark upon a role of a Passenger Carrier. As a Saud Kruger ship, the Dolphin can install luxury suite cabins exclusive to this brand. With an above-average jump-range and a sleek design, the Dolphin will surely find its place among the ever-growing field of space tourism.

Overview
The Dolphin is one of the three Saud Kruger line of ships, along with the Orca and Beluga Liner. It can be considered the passenger equivalent to the Type-6. Like its sisters, it is capable of carrying Luxury Cabins and has a focus on Passenger Missions, however it is somewhat viable in other roles as well.

The Dolphin has 84T of cargo space available for trading. Considering it has a similar price tag to the Type-6 and similar combat ability this makes the Dolphin a rather poor trading vessel; however, its higher jump range makes it a good Rare Goods trader or for long range transport.

In Combat, the Dolphin is just as bad as the Type-6 and suffers from many of the same downsides with its Sidewinder grade offenses and mediocre shields and armour. However, it has better mobility and better hardpoint placement, allowing it to be much more nimble as well as making it easier to keep Fixed Hardpoints on target.

As an Explorer the Dolphin shines; it has around 35ly of jump capacity before engineering, higher than that of the standard Type-6 and just slightly short of the significantly more expensive Asp Explorer, making the Dolphin an extremely good exploration vessel. Its downside is its low amount of compartment slots, limiting its use of Guardian Frame Shift Drive Boosters and other internals such as Fuel Scoops.

Passenger missions are its focus and it does them more effectively than most other ships. It has 1 spot for a Luxury Passenger Cabin and plenty of space for more passengers alongside. With its very high jump range this makes it great at doing long-range passenger missions, including those looking to go thousands of light-years. It isn't as good for bulk missions as it has low compartment space.

Overall the Dolphin is a fantastic exploration ship and is easily the best ship for carrying Luxury passengers due to its jump range and fair price. The decent cargo space and better mobility let it stand as a reasonable alternative to the trade focused Type-6.

The cockpit is at the front of the ship and like other Saud Kruger ships it is only possible to see from inside. The two small hardpoints are directly below this on the bottom of the ship.

Trivia
*The Dolphin engine boost sound resembles a dolphin whistle.
*As with all Saud Kruger ships, the Dolphin is loosely based on a luxury Cruise Ship, hence the aquatic animal theme. They also draw some inspiration from modern limousines such as the black windows.
* Beyond Chapter Four removes restrictions from the restricted module slots on the Beluga Liner, Dolphin and Orca. This allows them to equip modules other than Passenger Cabins in those slots.
The Orca is a ship manufactured by Saud Kruger. One of the galaxy's most popular passenger liners, the Orca combines Saud Kruger's signature sleek aesthetics and luxury accommodations into a relatively affordable package in the large-size ship range. As with other Saud Kruger vessels, it is capable of equipping Luxury-class Passenger Cabins, a manufacturer-exclusive feature. Although the Orca's initial specifications are not especially impressive given its heavy focus on passenger transport, with the right modules and engineering it can be transformed into a surprisingly manoeuvrable ship with above-average jump range. In most roles other than combat, the Orca can get the job done in style.
The Orca is essentially a passenger carrier version of the Type-7, sacrificing many of its upsides to focus on the passenger aspect, similar to what the Dolphin was to the Type-6.

Where officially its maneuverability is slightly better than an Anaconda and worse than a Beluga Liner, in practice the Orca handles far better than this rating suggests. It has a remarkably high turn rate, high acceleration and max speed, and it is very good at strafing. However, its relatively small power plant and limited hardpoint capacity prevent it from becoming a great combat ship. Its large size makes it an easy target, and its shield and armor are mediocre at best for a ship of this size and class. One of the biggest downsides to the ship is the hardpoint placement; all of which are on the underside of the ship making it easy for ships to stay out of the Orca's firing range. This hasn't stopped a handful of Commanders setting up groups dedicated to combat in Orcas, and like any ship, it is still formidable with engineering and skilled pilots.

The Jump range can reach a rather impressive average of 36lys making it a very good explorer at a fraction of the price of the Anaconda. This makes the Orca a better ship for long distance passenger hauling than most others and contributes heavily to its role as a cruise ship, allowing Commanders to take high-paying VIPs many light-years. Its range is still less than that of a Diamondback/Asp Explorer, which are both a fraction of the price and much better at self-defense.

As a trader or miner the Orca is a very bad option. In both aspects, the Type-7 is a far better option especially due to the Orca's huge pricetag. At a maximum 194T of possible cargo it has the lowest of any large ship, even lower when shielded.

The biggest downside the Orca has is its pricetag; it is only slightly better at its roles than the Dolphin or Type-7 but at more than ten times the cost. It is also worse than the Beluga Liner at everything but jump range; Commanders looking for passenger missions may choose it instead. The Orca is very good at carrying passengers long range, however because of the weight it's ill-advised to bring bulk passengers long range; at which point the Dolphin outclasses the Orca.

The hardpoint placement of the ship is as follows: all 3 hardpoints are located on the underside of the ship. The large hardpoint is placed in front of the front landing gear, whereas the 2 medium hardpoints are located side by side behind the large hardpoint.

The Orca's heat dispersion capabilities are relatively poor, so caution must be taken when adding or engineering modules with a high thermal load. The ship is especially prone to overheat when scooping fuel.

The bridge is located on the bottom of massive window in the front of the ship, with the pilot's seat, on the left side. From there the pilot enjoys excellent viewing angles in all directions but down.
* According to the Newsletter #84, with 0.016% of players piloting it the Orca is the least popular ship in the game.
* Beyond Chapter Four removes restrictions from the restricted module slots on the Beluga Liner, Dolphin and Orca. This allows them to equip modules other than Passenger Cabins in those slots.

The Beluga Liner is a ship manufactured by Saud Kruger. Comparable to an Imperial Cutter in mass and even bulkier in volume, the Beluga is a ponderous cruise liner designed to carry passengers to their destination in luxurious comfort. Only the Beluga and its smaller cousins the Orca and the Dolphin can be equipped with Luxury Passenger Cabin modules, allowing them to transport high-paying VIP passengers.

Overview
The third in the Saud Kruger line after the Dolphin and Orca, the Beluga Liner is the Passenger equivalent of the Type-9, sacrificing the huge cargo hold to carry luxury VIPs. It is designed to accommodate even more passengers in luxury and comfort than an Orca, but this specialization comes at the cost of speed and maneuverability. The result is a slow, cumbersome ship that is difficult to fit through a station's Access Corridor; deploying the landing gear folds the ship's bulky rear fins down, making it easier to traverse. To compensate, the Beluga features a Class 7 Frame Shift Drive and a 128-tonne Fuel Tank that gives it an impressive travel range for long-distance cruises. The Beluga can also fit a Fighter Hangar to bolster its modest offensive capability, though it is in no way optimized or recommended for extensive combat.

The Beluga Liner performs poorly in Combat. While the ship does boast better hardpoints and maneuverability than the Type-9, the hardpoints are positioned in a way that does not allow them good coverage areas or firing arcs, making it difficult to keep even turreted mounts on targets. The biggest downside is the shield generator and hull mass, which make the Beluga very easy to take down with even moderate fire. Combined with its colossal size making it a ridiculously large target the Beluga is often easy pickings for many ships, and even a Fighter Hanger only helps so much.

As a cargo ship, the Beluga has 368t of potential space. This is fairly poor for a large ship, only beating the Type-7 Transporter by 60 tonnes. The Beluga is capable of doing cargo runs but the price puts it in range of the Type-9 Heavy; which completely overshadows it all together.

The Beluga Liner makes for an interesting option as an Exploration vessel. With proper Engineering and a Guardian Frame Shift Drive Booster, its jump range tops out at 40-50 ly depending on what other modules it is carrying, but there are cheaper, less unwieldy ships to choose from that can achieve higher jump ranges. What makes the Beluga a decent contender as an explorer is its internal space and ability to equip a Fighter Hangar, it can carry every essential exploration module, a number of non-essential ones, and still have room for modules that have less usefulness out in the black, such as Cargo Racks. Not to be overlooked is the Beluga's open cockpit layout, which provides a wide, unobstructed view.

As a dedicated, high-capacity passenger liner the Beluga Liner suffers from a number of shortcomings that restrict its ability to adequately serve other roles. The Beluga cannot hold a Shield Generator larger than Class 6, making it the only ship unable to fit a shield generator that is optimized for its mass. The Beluga also has issues with heat management, which can exceed safe levels during and immediately after a Hyperspace jump due the heat build-up from the charging FSD; this can be partially mitigated by installing a higher-rated Power Plant, but the added mass will hinder the ship's jump range. It also has a worse jump range than the Orca, only marginally better combat potential, and a frustratingly large size that complicates docking. The Beluga is unsurpassed in its capacity for bulk VIP passenger missions, but with its various flaws, the Beluga is in essence cripplingly over-specialized.
Notes
*Elite Dangerous: Beyond Chapter Four removed restrictions from the restricted module slots on the Beluga Liner, Dolphin and Orca. This allows them to equip modules other than Passenger Cabins in those slots.
