lol then you would probably like ot hear that upgrading the pythons internals and modules is far more expensive than upgrading the lower class modules of fer de lance. Didn't know there are players out there, who just buy a ship and never upgrade it until they have enough money for a better one

when you're pirating, it has the advantage to land on outposts, which the Clipper don't have. Therefore it is easier to sell illegal goods, as outposts are often not surrounded by security ships and there is no one to scan you.

Dropship is more combat oriented than the clipper, it has better shields and armour, also 1 more hardpoint ( which u could use for specials weapons, like torpedolauncher), weapon variability is big, its obviously a heavy combat ship. i guess it is good for holding/defending one point for while, instead of trying to avoid hits. Oh, and you can land it on outposts, unlike the large Clipper

Federal Dropship has better shields too, even if its cheaper. I think the clipper is just not designed as a true combat ship, it probably has weapons to defend itself, but all the other things tell me that, it is not supposed to be a combat ship (only).
