Or you can do what's also popular. And "untargeted" your opponent in PvP with gimpled weapons. You just have to be good at finding them on your reader, without that extra maker on them. You get a bit lower damage, but that's it. You now have weapons you can use both in PvE, and PvP. And you don't need to eng a sets only for fixed/PvP. Saves you the hassle.

I wouldn't count on it. Best to use a point defence. I have one installed for that one purpose, after getting my 6k shield one hitted by those shiite, overpowered Torpedoes, by a PvP'er. Shame there's ain't any good spots on a Cutter for PD, but it's the only real defence. Unless you want to out run them, or can shot them down yourself. It would be nice, if frontier nerfed them, they are way, WAY, too overpowered.

Yeah, but you don't pay your lawyer the full amount all the time. You pay them more when you use/need them in a case. Pilots in Elite get the same for being inactive as for getting out there in lots of close calls. And that dosen't make sense...

If they got half the full amount for being inactive I'd understand it...

FFS! First now I find out that you still pay crew members even if they are inactive. Hired a expert so long ago, and automatic thought that you only paid them if they were active on your ship. Have paid that freeloading son of a bitch so many million just for sitting on her bare ass! I fired her immediately after finding out. I would jettison her if I could! :(

Btw, I doesn't make sense that you would pay them if they are inactive. That like getting fully paid for staying home from work, without reason. Oh if just life was that easy! Apparently it is in Elite... :/

It appears that after patch 2.4 Shield Cell Banks doesn't give any kind of spin-up sound when they are activated, for unknown reasons. Neither do they give any kind of end-beep to indicate when they are done, and ready to be used again. Which can make them difficult to use on the go, or in tense situations... Because you don't always know when you can use them again.

There is just no way I can see you'll "get that" with any other wep setup. (Not if you have tried it with a fully engineered Corvette). Multi-cannons is stupidly overpowered engineered. And not matter what kind of setup I'll try it comes nowhere near, an overall as good a result as only Multi-cannons. The only way it makes sense to use other weps in PvE, is if your opponent use chaff launchers. And you have gamblet weapons. And you want something you can use while they do. I recommend seeker missiles for that.

Multi-cannons is by far the best PvE weapon, because they work against both small and big ships. And if you mix Corrosive, and Incendiary, with a grade 5 Overcharged setup. It will pretty much pulverise everything you point at. I got a Corvette with only Multi-Cannons. And have actually gotten a few complaints in Multi-Crew about me killing the targets so fast that my crew members didn't even have a chance at hitting them before they were dead. I understand that if you PvP, and know that you'll be fighting the 3 big ones. You can use fixed weapons, and cannons because your target is bigger, and easier to hit. But a big cannon ain't even effective against an Adder if you have a big ship. Even if it's gimbaled, because it is too small, and you are too big and slow. Multi-Cannons are the best overall PvE weapon, especially for big ships alike, unless you want a more specialised setup for PvP.
