The Cutter features four medium [[hardpoint]]s: two on the nacelles and two on the chin; two large hardpoints on top of the ship and a single huge hardpoint on the chin. Notably, the exterior lights on the ship change color from blue to red once hardpoints are deployed.

With its 792 ton cargo capacity it has the largest cargo bay a playable ship can have, with almost 50% more space compared to the [[Type-9 Heavy]], while having significantly better shields and speed than the Type-9. This will make it the most logical choice for traders. However it costs almost three times more and requires very high rank with the Empire to purchase.

It has maneuverability comparable to the Type-9. However, unlike the Type-9, it is extremely well-shielded, very fast for its size, and reasonably well-armed, giving it far greater survivability and allowing some limited use of it as a combat ship, especially in the piracy role. In addition, with plenty of internals available to mount mining accessories while still leaving the largest open for cargo holds, excellent speed for moving from asteroid to asteroid, and a sufficiency of medium weapon mounts, the Cutter is unquestionably the best mining ship yet.

The '''Anaconda''' is currently the third largest ship that is able to be piloted by a player in [[Elite: Dangerous|Elite Dangerous]], only being surpassed in size by the [[Federal Corvette]] and [[Imperial Cutter]]. Boasting an array of weapon [[hardpoint]]s this ship is a formidable [[combat]] ship capable of holding its own against multiple opponents. It, the [[Fer-de-Lance]], the Federal Corvette, and the Imperial Cutter are the only [[ships]] capable of equipping the powerful Class 4 [[Plasma Accelerator]]s and Cannons; however, the Anaconda's relatively low manoeuvrability makes these choices of weaponry rather inefficient and unwieldy, as it can take a considerable amount of time to properly line up shots. Some [[trader]]s also make use of this ship due to its high jump range, enormous cargo capacity (Surpassed only by the [[Lakon Type-9 Heavy]], the [[Federal Corvette]], and the [[Imperial Cutter]]), and superb defensive capabilities. The only downside is the cost to upgrade and maintain the ship; prices for smaller less essential modules will easily exceed 1 million credits, with other more important modules priced in the tens of millions of credits each.

The weapon hardpoint locations are as follows: Two Class 3 Large hardpoints top mounted side-by-side to each other in front of the cockpit and about 1/3 the ship length back from the front tip with slightly blocked aft line of sight. One Class 2 Medium hardpoint side mounted on each side near the front tip of the ship (2x Class 2 medium hardpoints total) with decent lines of sight. One Class 3 Large hardpoint mounted on the underside of the ship, near the tip of the ship, with somewhat blocked aft line of sight. One Class 4 Huge hardpoint mounted on the underside of the ship at about 1/3 of the ship length back from the front tip, mounted slightly lower than the underside class 3 hardpoint, with nearly uninterrupted forward and below lines of sight and somewhat blocked aft lines of sight. Two Class 1 Small hardpoints mounted on the underside of the ship, side-by-side to each other, at the very back of the large rectangular Cargo bay shaped area, with nearly uninterrupted lines of sight in all underside directions but have extremely limited firing arc convergence with the top mounted class 3 large hardpoints.

Some [[trader]]s also make use of this ship due to its high jump range, enormous cargo capacity (Surpassed only by the [[Lakon Type-9 Heavy]] and the [[Federal Corvette]] and [[Imperial Cutter]]), and superb defensive capabilities. The only downside is the cost to upgrade and maintain the ship. Prices for modules will easily exceed 1 million credits.

The weapon hardpoint locations are as follows: Two Class 3 Large hardpoints top mounted side-by-side to each other in front of the cockpit and about 1/3 the ship length back from the front tip with slightly blocked aft line of sight. One Class 2 Medium hardpoint side mounted on each side near the front tip of the ship (2x Class 2 medium hardpoints total) with decent lines of sight. One Class 3 Large hardpoint mounted on the underside of the ship, near the tip of the ship, with somewhat blocked aft line of sight. Outfitting is a service available at certain stations that allows players to customize their ship's [[weapons]], [[equipment]], and [[Livery|cosmetics]].

Weapons can come in three orientations: Fixed, Gimbal, Turret. Each orientation has varying stats even though they are the same weapon type. Fixed weapons shoot directly at the player's center reticule, are not affected by chaff and generally will do more damage. Gimbal weapons can track targets, but doing so means they are affected by chaff. Turret weapons can track and attack any target that is in the weapon's LOS, but are affected by chaff. Generally Turret weapons are expensive to purchase and have low damage.

There are also missiles which come in two variants: Dumbfire and Seeker. Dumbfire missile racks have more ammo and can output more dps, but the missiles only shoot straight ahead. Seeker missile racks have less ammo and less dps, but the missiles will track their target and are unaffected by chaff.

Generally most modules (not weapons) come in five variants per class and those variants are rated from E to A. "E" is the lowest rated variant, but also the cheapest. "A" is the highest rated variant, but is much more expensive than the other variants (sometimes costing millions of more credits). The variant rated "D" often weighs less than the norm while the variant rated "B" often weighs much more than the norm.

Some equipment (the combat oriented equipment primarily) only come in one class (the scanners) or one variant (the defensive utilities).

==Weapon Hardpoint==
There are currently four types of hardpoints: Small, Medium, Large, Huge. Each size of hardpoint denotes the maximum class of weapon that can be fitted to that hardpoint.

:Small hardpoints allow weapons of Class 1 to be equipped.

:Medium hardpoints allow weapons of Class 2 or 1 to be equipped.

:Large hardpoints allow weapons of Class 3, 2 or 1 to be equipped.

:Huge hardpoints allow weapons of Class 4, 3, 2 or 1 to be equipped.
