When it comes to combat, I very ew the FAS, the Chieftain, and the Python as equals that are different in their own ways. The FAS lies far to the left (left means PvP) with the highest armor and concealment. The Python lies far to the right (right means PvE) with the highest dps but the worst maneuverability and armor. The Chieftain is supposed to act as a midpoint between the two. To me, that means that the Chieftain is supposed to have an equal balance of PvP and PvE functionality. The Chieftain is a fantastic option for either as it has great armor, (almost) unrivaled maneuverability, and incredible hardpoint class and placement.

I like this ship. Sure, it may be unneccesary, but with the right loadout, you can get more armor than the Gunship. The slightly downgraded hardpoints actually have a positive effect: less strain on the power modules. My only real gripe with this ship are its optional internals. So you expand the ship's frame to allow room for a fighter bay. By expanding the ship's frame, you should be adding more internal space. Seriously, this ship would be worshipped if it had just another c5 slot. Devs should really give the Crusader the buff it deserves.
