The Krait MkII is a ship manufactured by Faulcon DeLacy. The modern successor of the discontinued Krait MkI, the Krait MkII greatly expands upon the premise of the original, resulting in a larger, well-rounded ship intended to provide a more combat-focused alternative to Faulcon DeLacy's other mid-size multipurpose craft, the Python. Due to its inconspicuous design, the Krait MkII is also less likely to attract the attention of local authorities and has potential as a smuggling vessel.

Overview
The Krait MkII is a leaner, meaner alternative to the Python, featuring almost identical module and hardpoint specifications. The main differences are that the Krait is cheaper and has one less Class 6 internal compartment, lower armour, lower hull mass, three pilot seats for Multicrew instead of two, and the ability to carry a Class 5 or 6 Fighter Hangar for Ship-Launched Fighters. While the Python wins out in total cargo capacity and armour, the Krait's other characteristics make it a faster, more agile ship with a higher jump range potential and excellent combat utility for its price.

The Krait's three large hardpoints are mounted in a delta pattern on the vessel's dorsal surface, behind the cockpit. The two medium hardpoints are mounted on the underside of the front-most points of the hull, on either side of the cockpit and slightly forward.

The primary pilot's seat is located squarely along the centerline of the ship, but the cockpit itself extends from the hull and is slightly under-slung, affording a wide, unobstructed frontal view reminiscent of a Lakon Spaceways ship such as the Asp Explorer. The two secondary pilot seats flank the primary pilot seat to the left and right, and have separate canopies.
Notes
*The Krait MkII was released with the Chapter Two (3.1) update of Elite Dangerous: Beyond on June 28, 2018. Purchasing it requires owning Elite Dangerous: Horizons.
*Elite Dangerous narrative lead Ian Dingwall describes the ship: "You might think of the Krait Mk II as analogous to modern updates of the real-world Mini Cooper or Volkswagen Beetle... It's a reimagining of a classic that connects conceptually and aesthetically with the ship from 1984's Elite, while offering enough innovation and quality to compete with contemporary rivals in Elite Dangerous. While the Mk II embodies the essence of the original, it's very much its own ship."
*Senior designer Barry Clark said the Krait MkII "currently occupies a unique place among our ship roster and is very popular among players... The idea of a low-profile ship for Commanders flying dubious cargo was really cool to us, too. The Krait is a great all-round ship with a strong hull, powerful engines – which look super-cool – and a great load-out. It's also less 'conspicuous', meaning it's less likely to get scanned by the police compared to other ships of that size and class. It has significant straight line speed and power, as well as enough firepower to match the Python thanks to three large and two medium hardpoints. It has a really nice punch against a variety of ship types and sizes."

Trivia
* The Krait MKII was first teased in the first trailer for Beyond Chapter 2; only its engines were shown however and no other info was yet known.
* Bizarrely, the Krait MKII is structured upside-down, with the underside being sloped and detailed and the top being flat and mechanical; the opposite of a standard ship design.
Imperial Eagle

The Eagle MkII is an agile fighter sporting 3 weapon hardpoints. It is the most manoeuvrable ship currently in the game (excluding ship launched fighters), as well as being the cheapest combat-specialized vessel. However, it suffers from a short hyperspace range, as well as a tendency to overheat and run out of weapons power.
Overview
The Eagle is an extremely agile ship; in fact, it has the highest Manoeuvrability of any ship, excluding Ship Launched Fighters. Thus the Eagle is extremely viable for any commander looking to take advantage of mobility and even high tier ships like Anacondas might struggle against a well trained Eagle pilot due to its ability to stay on the rear of ships; where even Turreted hardpoints won't have any visibility of the ship. Be careful of bigger ships deploying the tiny fighters however and it is highly advised to prioritize these in combat.

Compared to the Sidewinder the Eagle is a strict upgrade in virtually every aspect. The sidewinder has slightly better base armour but the Eagle has much better combat ability, not to mention better cargo capacity, jump range, damage, hardpoints etc. The Eagle is a great second ship for players to jump to and some even prefer it over the Hauler for cargo jobs due to its respectable 16T of space.

The Eagle makes a fantastic Bounty Hunter or Pirate. With its manoeuvrability, the Eagle can take on most adversaries and with three class 1 hardpoints the Eagle is capable of dealing formidable damage and its high manoeuvrability means it is brilliant at both Interdicting and dodging Interdictions making it great for shieldless trading. Defensively, however, the eagle has paper thin armor, dying to sustained fire from even a Sidewinder. Thus, the manoeuverability of the ship is critical in avoding hits. The best defense is not to get hit at all. Thus a shield is recommended and the low shield power encourages the use of a Shield Booster. The issue with this, however, is that Eagle has only one utility mount, which means going without a Kill Warrant Scanner. You may wish to instead use a Stealth build; the Eagle has good heat management and using Silent Running may make ships unable to ever get a hit on an Eagle; especially if they run Turreted and Gimballed mounts. Be careful as experienced commanders may know how to get around this. The other problem is this strategy requires a Chaff Launcher which again requires going without a Kill Warrant Scanner.

As a Trader or Miner, the Eagle is significantly better than the Sidewinder in both aspects. However, the Hauler may be better for traders if not wanting to touch combat, though you may be better off holding out until the Adder becomes affordable, as it is much better in both aspects while still being viable in combat.

The weapon hardpoints are located as follows: 2 small hardpoints on the underside of main body of ship, 1 small hardpoint on the top of the ship behind the cockpit. The cockpit is notable as it is incredibly small; very similar to that of the tiny ship launched fighters. Many players may find the space either enjoyable or rather claustrophobic and it makes the Eagle have rather poor visibility.

In September 2014 Frontier announced that the Eagle would become a second starting ship for all players who had pre-ordered Elite Dangerous, including existing Beta and Kickstarter supporters. This starting Eagle (known as the "Freagle") is located in a Station outside of the player's starting system and can be flown once the commander travels to the station where it is stored. The Free Eagle can be found by opening the Galaxy Map and looking for a system with a blue ship icon next to it; the ship will be located in a station within the designated system.

The Eagle MkII has an available 12 piece cosmetic ship kit that can be purchased from the Frontier store which allows you to "remodel your ship in your personal style". The ship kit does not affect gameplay.

Purchase Locations
The Eagle is a very common ship and can be found at nearly any shipyard. If you are struggling to find it, the following (incomplete) list contains confirmed purchase locations.

Any player can collect a bounty by killing a wanted player or NPC. The ship scanner can determine if the selected target is "Clean" or if there is a warrant for their destruction. Bounties outside of the current jurisdiction are not shown by the ship scanner so it is recommended that bounty hunters equip a Kill Warrant Scanner to scan for those extra bounties (bind it to a fire group, aim at the target and "shoot" until the scan is finished). It is also recommended to have a Frame Shift Wake Scanner equipped, to scan any High Energy Wakes, in case the target jumps using Frame Shift Drive or FSD.

Bounty hunters will often loiter outside stations in order to scan other ships when they slow down to enter the docking area, but many bounty hunters are most active at RES (Resource Extraction Sites) or Nav Beacons since many wanted ships will appear at both locations. Most NPC ships will pass through the Nav Beacons making them excellent areas for both NPC and player bounty hunters. The Resource Extraction Sites can be mixed in their populations. Isolated clusters of asteroids rarely contain any activity at all whereas the planetary rings of busy planets are rife with pirates looking to prey on miners. This makes planetary rings advisable for any prospective bounty hunters.

A major problem for bounty hunters is accidentally shooting the regional security services. Stray multicannon shots, turreted weapons and occasional AI stupidity tend to be the causes of this problem. In this instance the player will gain their own bounty and would need to go to a station in a system where their bounty does not apply. To get rid of your bounty, you must go to a station with Interstellar Factors to pay it off, provided your notoriety is zero.

To claim a bounty a player only needs to find a target with an active bounty on them and destroy their ship. Getting the final "kill" shot is not required to claim the bounty if the following conditions are met: (1) No other players who are not part of your wing attack and hit the ship since your last successful hit on the target. NPC attacks do not count as kill credit to a player is prioritized over an NPC. (2) Your last successful hit on the target was within a short time frame before the killing blow, usually within the last 15-30 seconds or so. Wing mates getting the killing blow will still award you a claim if your last hit on the target was within a decent time-frame.

Claims can be redeemed in the Local Security Offices section of the Contacts menu at any station in a system where the target was wanted. It is important to note that if you fire before the target is designated as 'wanted' then you will gain your own bounty.

As of 1.03 bounty hunting now gains a reputation gain with the faction you hunt in. Both stations and traders (including their fighter escorts) will appear as green blips on your radar and will assist you if attacked. In the case of traders, they only appear as green when encountering them for the second time, the first time they appear as any other random, non-aligned NPC.
Bounty vouchers are awarded when a commander destroys a ship that had a bounty on it. These vouchers must be cashed in at an appropriate contact to receive the reward. You can additionally redeem any voucher at Interstellar Factors, but at a 25% fine.

Kills and associated bounty vouchers are recorded in the ship's log, so if your ship is destroyed before you get back to a station contact to present them for payment, then the vouchers will be lost along with the ship and you will not be able to cash them in. An exception to this is if the bounty voucher was awarded in the presence of a System Authority Vessel in which case they "radio" the kill confirmation back to their home station.

Bounty Value
Bounty value on NPC ships is somewhat random, but seems to scale proportionately both with class of ship and with skill of the pilot. An Elite Sidewinder might be worth more than a harmless Asp, even though the effort required to take down the latter may be greater than the effort for the former. Commonly seen ships and their bounties are below (bounties taken with Kill Warrant Scanner in an anarchy system - local system bounties may add to overall value):
* Sidewinder: 200 - 8,000 Cr
* Eagle: 1,000 - 9,000 Cr
* Cobra MkIII: 5,000 - 25,000Cr
* Viper MkIII: 10,000 - 43,000 Cr
* Hauler/Adder: 1,500 - 10,000 Cr
* Lakon Type-6/7: 3,000 - 20,000 Cr
* Miscellaneous Super-Heavies (Imperial Clipper, Federal Dropship, Python): ~20,000 - 200,000 Cr
* Anaconda: 50,000 - 350,000 Cr
These figures are highly subject to change on an individual basis and are just a vague guide.

Most stations will display the 5 most wanted players in the system along with where they were last active and their bounty. Hunting other players can bring in bounty vouchers worth millions provided they do not Alt+F4 before you get the kill.

A Railgun is a very powerful electromagnetic projectile weapon. Therefore it deals mixed thermic-kinetic damage. It requires a large amount of power to use it and generates a large amount of heat in the process, compared to other weapons but can cause severe damage to the target.

However, its exceptional penetration allows it to hit subsystems even when striking through the opposite side of a hull in most cases. The effective damage of this weapon varies considerably based on shot placement.

In the right hands, the rail gun is a potent weapon, especially on small ships. Both Diamondback ships are great for using this weapons, especially the Scout, due to excellent heat efficiency and maneuverability to stay on target.

Munition
Each shot costs 75 CR. The clip size is only a single shot, which takes 1s to reload. The total capacity is 80 shots which can be altered by engineering.

As of version 2.2, the "Plasma Slug" can be added to the weapon by engineers as an experimental effect. A railgun with this effect does significantly less damage and draws a small but noticeable amount of fuel from the active reservoir (22kg class 1, 25kg class 2) to generate ammunition on demand rather than using the normal magazine.

Specifications
Damage begins to fall off at 1000m with a total range of 3000m.

Another vaiant is the Imperial Hammer Railgun.

Interdiction is a term for when a ship is intercepted by another vessel during supercruise mode. When a ship is interdicted, it starts a small minigame, where the ship being interdicted must fly towards an escape vector to run away. The interdictor must follow the ship and try to fill up its progress bar against the efforts of the interdicted player, or they will simply fail and the person will get away. The interdicted may choose to submit to interdiction by lowering throttle to zero, resulting in a much shorter Frame Shift Drive (FSD) cooldown and no heat or hull damage compared to forced interdiction.

Upon successfully interdicting, the person who was interdicted drops out of supercruise mode into normal flight mode taking a small amount of heat damage and their FSD now requiring a long cooldown. Interdictions can be caused by System Authority Vessels, Bounty Hunters, Pirates, and other players.

System Authority Vessels will generally interdict only to scan for criminal status (Bounties) and activities (Illegal Goods/Stolen Goods). If either scan turns out positive then they will begin to open fire on your ship otherwise they will send you a message to continue on your way.

When Bounty Hunters interdict you they will generally scan your ship to determine your criminal status and if their scan reveals a bounty they will open fire.

Pirates currently act in one of three ways when they interdict you. Either they will open fire immediately in hopes that you will jettison cargo, they will send you a message instructing you to "Give up your cargo or die!", or they will scan your cargo before demanding you jettison it. The end goal for the pirates is to relieve you of your cargo and they do not generally care if you live or die in the process. The more honorable of pirates however tends to try to spare your life unless they feel the need to do otherwise.

An interdiction that happens in hyperspace is called a hyperdiction.

Notes
* Frame Shift Drive Interdictor introduced which allows players to interdict other ships. (Beta 3)
* Ships will take more damage when interdicting at higher speeds than lower speeds. Cite
* Both the interdicting and interdicted ships will take damage when dropping from supercruise, unless the interdicted ship submits to the interdiction.
* If the person who is being interdicted has their throttle at zero or near zero, they will automatically be interdicted with no minigame, heat, or hull damage.
* If the interdicting ship fails to pull their target out of supercruise, the attacker will still be forced to perform an emergency stop while their target is free to escape.
* If you activate orbital flight by nearing a planet while being interdicted, the interdiction will fail as your ship will be going too fast and will be pulled out of supercruise and the interdiction

The Farragut Battle Cruiser is the mainstay capital ship of the Federation. Heavily armed with classified weaponry, the Farragut stretches over two kilometers long. The backbone of the Federal Navy, it also forms the central core of Federal Navy Fleets.

The battlecruiser is capable of transporting and operating whole groups of Federal Corvettes, alongside housing multiple F63 Condor squadrons. It cannot be piloted by players.

Design
The official The Art of Elite Dangerous art book describes the Farragut:

"In contrast to the opulence of the Empire’s Majestic Class Interdictor, the Federation’s capital ships are brutal, practical war machines inside and out."

"Airtight doors split the interior into many separate compartments. Grab-handles abound, as do access panels and all the paraphernalia of a military vessel. There would be no mistaking a Federal ship’s interior with an Imperial one."

According to David Braben "There will be no gravity, you'll just float around. Things like magnetic boots will make getting around very easy. These would look like normal shoes with fancy technology that make them stick to the surface." "The Federal ship is a lot more Spartan, a lot more just practical warship essentially." "The Federal ship's central section, with design, one of the design briefs we've had is try to design ships with functions in mind. In the Federal ship it's utility that's important. The reason its got this central corridors is this is where ships come out of their hangars. It's to try and protect the hangars from outside. So the reason they face inward and the ships fly out you know they're already up to speed. That would be very heavily protected potentially with shields around it."

Specifications
Core Dynamics Farragut-Class Battlecruisers represent the cutting edge in military technology. A single FCB can carry several squadrons of Federal Fighters and multiple Federal Corvettes across hundreds of light years without any difficulty. These deep deployment capabilities, coupled with extraordinarily heavy firepower, practically guarantee that a single FBC will completely overpower all but the most well-equipped opponents.
Notes
* All Farragut Battle Cruisers appear to share the registration tag of FDN-RD5.
* The Farragut Battle Cruiser cannot be destroyed by reducing its hull to 0%.
* After destroying all of the Faragut's Heat Relays the ship will escape from battle by activating its Frame Shift Drive.
* Routing the Farragut awards the player 150,000 CR.
* Capital Ships have an exclusion zone. Flying too close to a Capital Ship is considered a threat and will make you a target, even if you are friendly. The Capital Ship will often inform you when you are getting close, telling you to back off.
* A Farragut is stationed above Earth in the Sol system, perhaps as a permanent post. It does not maintain an exclusion zone for friendlies.
* They can also be found at Capital Ship Docks
