As for what purpose the Imp Eagle serves? Honestly, it is mostly a thing people just wanted. The Imp Eagle is fondly remembered by many as the best of the Eagle variants, and a great ship to fly until the late game. I expect it will be not much more expensive than an Eagle, which is a huge difference compared to the Courier. It seems to be notably weaker than the Courier, with lower classes of weapons, and I speculate it will probably be slower and have weaker shields.
