Type 6 is good only for the old-style surface mining with lasers. For the new stuff (core mining) is lacks the size 2 hardpoints which are mandatory. And all the other small sized ones lack the internal compartments. So yeah, if you don't have mkIV the lowest grade one is the Asp Explorer.

Dang, can't believe I forgot about installing this module on my ship.
Only found out when I arrived at my final destination lol

Anyways, I was able to easily find it at Taylor Enterprise (Kotigeni) which is very close to GCRV 1568 - a great mining system!
Also, Taylor Enterprise has pretty much all the new mining hardpoints (SCL, S-SDM, AB) so yeah, pretty descent.
