One piece of advice when you're grinding these fed ranks..... DO NOT GO TO PRISON. I was landing at Sothis when I accidentally pulled my trigger and fired a shot into the boards (the landing pad). I was instantly destroyed and sent to prison TWENTY EIGHT GLORIOUS JUMPS AWAY!!!! If you do something dumb, get jailed, and you don't have a fuel scoop, you're pretty much dead, and will need to summon the Fuel Rats. Needless to say, I'm turning off "Firing Deploys Hardpoints" for the duration of my Gold Rush Adventure. This happened once before, at the Ngalinn-Mainani gold rush, but my solution was to equip my Discovery Scanner. Well I forgot to this time, and now it will never happen again. crosses fingers

You may also want to pick up a Detailed Surface Scanner while you're at one of the stations, because all the Sothis planets come up as Unexplored, which is annoying, because it means you have to go into the system map to find the stations quickly. Once you scan the planets they sit next to, no longer a problem.

The other downside is that, unlike the Empire gold rush, the Fed Naval missions are a grab bag of different things (Strike, Rare Art, Dliever Animal Meat, etc), so you need to back out of the mission board and go back in until you get what you want. No need to board flip or even exit to Starport Services.

Oh, you can do the same thing for Federation by doing runs from Sothis to Ceos. Only think is it's like 48 jumps away from the Empire gold rush, so it may take an hour of flying or whatever.

The good news: The payout for the data missions can by higher than the previous 37k. I've seen them as high as 60k

The bad news: There are 2 different stations in Sothis and you end up delivering to both, if you just spped click through the Accept screen, like me. It seems they're close enough that it doesn't affect your time bonuses (I think....I keep getting them). Good luck! o7

Oh and remember to grab all the missions that pay between 28k and 37k (the max they give), and if there aren't enough good ones, log out and back into solo (or open, if you're already in solo) and look for more 37s. You get around 100K time bonus, so at 20 missions a run (the max you can accept) you'll be making around 2.6 million cr per run, give or take a 10k and there. ;)

Not bad considering you can get from one station to the other in less time than it takes to listen to a song.

Oops, acciodentally posted to soon. But yeah this still works, and if they won't grant your docking request because it's too full, just quickly switch to Solo, so you don't lose your Time Bonus (that's where the mojney is, people, I've made like 100 million off of this). Don't forget it puts you out of range, so you'll need to boost closer before sending your docking request. :)

It took me A LOT longer than 3 or 4 hours, and that was to go from Master to King, but it does still work If you decide to get an Imperial Clipper, just be prepared to keep grinding way past King in order to afford the outfitting.

I've gotten to the point where I can't help being happy, seeing Governor Shelton Church, and his lopsided grin. M
