{{quote|Another classic design that has survived the centuries. The first vessel was constructed in 2700 by Whatt and Pritney Ship Constructions. With the demise of the company and after various mergers and takeovers the ship design is now owned by Faulcon deLacy. The ship remains the slow and sturdy craft it was originally famous for and some smaller navies still use this class as a patrol cruiser (although tiny compared to the Imperial Interdictors and Federal Battle cruisers).|In-Game Description}}

Rumors says, the Python is a bit more maneuverable than Anaconda, making it logically well geared to overturn Anaconda and overshot everything else. Some people call Python "the Gunboat" or "pocket destroyer".

People who keep changing the manufacturer to Zorgon Peterson: Stop it. The ship has distinct Faulcon DeLacy logos in the interior in addition to having a very distinct Faulcon DeLacy design (not to mention engine sounds). The Zorgon Peterson logo in the Shipyard interface is undeniably just a placeholder, just like the description. Take it up with Frontier on the fact that they still haven't updated its in-game information.

173.67.1.174: Manufacturer is most decidedly NOT Zorgon despite the Shipyard interface. Cockpit has Faulcon DeLacy logo plainly visible under radar. Stop Insisting it's Zorgon Peterson just because of the Shipyard interface which only contains placeholders.
