The Dolphin is the latest addition to Saud Kruger's line of luxury passenger ships. It is a small vessel with a very low starter price aimed at commanders wishing to embark upon a role of a Passenger Carrier. As a Saud Kruger ship, the Dolphin can install luxury suite cabins exclusive to this brand. With an above-average jump-range and a sleek design, the Dolphin will surely find its place among the ever-growing field of space tourism.

Overview
The Dolphin is one of the three Saud Kruger line of ships, along with the Orca and Beluga Liner. It can be considered the passenger equivalent to the Type-6. Like its sisters, it is capable of carrying Luxury Cabins and has a focus on Passenger Missions. The Dolphin distinguishes itself from the other two Kruger ships however due to actually being rather viable in various roles.

The Dolphin has 84T of cargo space available for trading. Considering it has a similar price tag to the Type-6 and similar combat ability this makes the Dolphin a rather poor trading vessel; however, its higher jump range makes it a good Rare Goods trader or for long range transport.

In Combat, the Dolphin is just as bad as the Type-6 and suffers from many of its downsides with its Sidewinder grade offenses and has worse shields and armour. However, it has better mobility and better hardpoint placement which can let it be much more nimble and allow it to evade oncoming fire much easier as well as keep Fixed Hardpoints on target.

As an Explorer the Dolphin is only mediocre; it has around 35ly of jump capacity before engineering; higher than that of the standard Type-6 and just slightly short of the Asp Explorer, but following 3.1 additions only has 6 available optional slots, meaning the Type 6 (with 7 free slots and able to carry a 5h FSD booster) can out pace the Dolphin in Jump range.

In fact following the FSD booster additions a fully equipped Imperial cutter can outpace a Dolphin in Jump range.

Passenger missions are its focus and it does them more effectively than most other ships. It has 1 spot for a Luxury Passenger Cabin and plenty of space for more passengers alongside. With its very high jump range this makes it very good at doing long-range passenger missions, including those looking to go thousands of Lys for a journey. It isn't as good for bulk missions as it has low compartment space.

Overall the Dolphin is a fantastic exploration ship and is easily the best ship for carrying Luxury passengers due to its jump range and fair price. The decent cargo space and better mobility let it stand as a reasonable alternative to the trade focused Type-6.

The cockpit is at the front of the ship and like other Saud Kruger ships it is only possible to see from inside. The two small hardpoints are directly below this on the bottom of the ship.
Trivia
*The Dolphin engine boost sound resembles a dolphin whistle.
*In real life, black windows dim views from the transparent side and as such are illegal for use as windshields.
*As with all Saud Kruger ships, the Dolphin is loosely based on a luxury Cruise Ship, hence the aquatic animal theme. They also draw some inspiration from modern limousines such as the black windows.

The Krait MkII is a ship manufactured by Faulcon DeLacy. The modern successor of the discontinued Krait MkI, the Krait MkII greatly expands upon the premise of the original, resulting in a larger, well-rounded ship intended to provide a more combat-focused alternative to Faulcon DeLacy's other mid-size multipurpose craft, the Python. Due to its inconspicuous design, the Krait MkII is also less likely to attract the attention of local authorities and has potential as a smuggling vessel.

Overview
The Krait MkII is a leaner, meaner alternative to the Python, featuring almost identical module and hardpoint specifications. The main differences are that the Krait is cheaper and has one fewer Class 6 internal compartment, lower armour, lower hull mass, three pilot seats for Multicrew instead of two, and the ability to carry a Class 5 or 6 Fighter Hangar for Ship-Launched Fighters. While the Python wins out in total cargo capacity and armour, the Krait's other characteristics make it a faster, more agile ship with a higher jump range potential and excellent combat utility for its price.

The Krait's three large hardpoints are mounted in a delta pattern on the vessel's dorsal surface, behind the cockpit. The two medium hardpoints are mounted on the underside of the front-most points of the hull, on either side of the cockpit and slightly forward.

Due to Frontier developers failing their Maths GCSEs and also lacking common sense in general, the Krait as a multipurpose ship is both an excellent Combat ship and also surprisingly better than the ASP Explorer at Exploring!, it has a similar Jump range exceeding 63LY with a fighter bay and still has a spare slot for the Exploration enthusiast to fit whatever other modules Frontier decide to invent. Of course it will never surpass the magical Anaconda but this ship seams to be made with the same kind of magic just in a Medium ship format but looks like a dogs dinner much like the anaconda.

One day there will be exploration ships that are actually better than multipurpose vessels at actually exploring.

One day there will be Combat ships that are actually better than multipurpose vessels at actually fighting

Until then just buy an Anaconda, if you cant afford it buy a Krait instead /end game

The primary pilot's seat is located squarely along the centerline of the ship, but the cockpit itself extends from the hull and is slightly under-slung, affording a wide, unobstructed frontal view reminiscent of a Lakon Spaceways ship such as the Asp Explorer. The two secondary pilot seats flank the primary pilot seat to the left and right, and have separate canopies.
Notes
*The Krait MkII was released with the Chapter Two (3.1) update of Elite Dangerous: Beyond on June 28, 2018. Purchasing it requires owning Elite Dangerous: Horizons.
*Elite Dangerous narrative lead Ian Dingwall describes the ship: "You might think of the Krait Mk II as analogous to modern updates of the real-world Mini Cooper or Volkswagen Beetle... It's a reimagining of a classic that connects conceptually and aesthetically with the ship from 1984's Elite, while offering enough innovation and quality to compete with contemporary rivals in Elite Dangerous. While the Mk II embodies the essence of the original, it's very much its own ship."
*Senior designer Barry Clark said the Krait MkII "currently occupies a unique place among our ship roster and is very popular among players... The idea of a low-profile ship for Commanders flying dubious cargo was really cool to us, too. The Krait is a great all-round ship with a strong hull, powerful engines – which look super-cool – and a great load-out. It's also less 'conspicuous', meaning it's less likely to get scanned by the police compared to other ships of that size and class. It has significant straight line speed and power, as well as enough firepower to match the Python thanks to three large and two medium hardpoints. It has a really nice punch against a variety of ship types and sizes."

Trivia
* The Krait MKII was first teased in the first trailer for Beyond Chapter 2; only its engines were shown however and no other info was yet known.
* Bizarrely, the Krait MKII is structured upside-down, with the underside being sloped and detailed and the top being flat and mechanical; the opposite of a standard ship design.

As an Explorer the Dolphin fails; it has around 35ly of jump capacity before engineering; higher than that of the Type-6 but way off the mark of the Asp Explorer which can fit FSD booster following the 3.1 update, the Dolphin is obsolete for explorers; Pre 3.1 it was great but now every other ship outclass it, Explorers would be better off flying a Krait (combat ship) which has more internal module slots, a fighter bay AND has a better jump range not to mention the huge fuel scoop.

Although all the multipurpose ships are better at passenger missions than the Dolphin

Overall the Dolphin is a fantastic ship that has since become obsolescent the only thing it is good at is looking good & the decent cargo space and better mobility let it stand as a reasonable alternative to the trade focused Type-6.
